Joint District Meeting with Coleraine district

I’ll be staying in Derry!! Yay!!! With Elder Buckley too. This moves ahs gone by SO quickly so it’s exciting to stay and actually have another companion longer than 6 weeks. I’ve only had 3 now be longer than 6 weeks…out of 13. haha!

I really am loving Londonderry now. Well, I always have. It’s a great city and there is SO much work to be done here!! It just needs to get done. We’re working on it! 🙂

This week we weren’t able to do too much, a lot of finding and traveling. But we have some upcoming appointments this week and it’ll be great!!

Throughout the past few weeks we’ve had the opportunity to teach a little 7 year old kid name Jack who wants to get baptized. It’s so cool because he made this decision all on his own, and his parents don’t even go to church. So I had the privilege of teaching him a few times, and then interviewing him for his baptism!! He was so excited!! He said “I love church! I’m always gonna go to church even when I’m old and in a wheelchair cause I love going to church!” haha he was so cute! The smile on his face after he got baptized was so big! It was a great experience to attend his baptism and watch him enter into his first covenants with the Lord. He’s a great example to all of us!!

In church yesterday an amazing talk was given on faith and becoming Spiritually Self-Reliant (part of the Europe Area Plan). It was great! He mentioned how lucky we are to be in a faith that claims it has it’s own scripture, claims divine visitation for things like the restoration of the Priesthood, and claims all of these things, with witnesses to back up everything that someone says. We have 12 witnesses of the Book of Mormon, and for every event that Joseph Smith experienced (besides the First Vision) there is a witness to back up and testify to what he said. And now we are given another witness, the Book of Mormon. Our job is to put it to the test. Experiment on it! Try and prove the book is wrong. But first, you must read it and ask in faith to see if it is true. And that is when we are given a witness. “Ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.”

So I challenge you all to do that. Read the Book of Mormon, test it out, (if you’ve already done it, do it again!) and you will find more happiness in your life than you could have ever imagined, all because of the knowledge that you will gain of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Oops! Just preached a little. Oh well, have a great week everyone!!
