Amazing Week in Arbroath!

This has been one of the best weeks I’ve had in Arbroath 😀 So a lot has happened, but these are the main highlights.
We had a miracle this week! We were meeting with Bro. Stead, who is a less active member, but still has an amazing testimony. He came out to church last week, which was an big step for him! We went to visit him again on Saturday evening, and he wasn’t feeling too well. He was really having a hard time with his leg, it was in pain, and he said that whenever he walks he about falls over. During the visit, one of our members here walked in to check up on Bro. Stead to see how he was, and as she left she suggested that he ask us for a blessing. We had a great discussion on strengthening our relationship with our Heavenly Father, and then he asked us for a blessing. We laid our hands on his head and gave him a blessing that he would be healed if he continues to pray and try his best. Well, Sunday while we were sitting in Gospel Principles, he drove up! We were so happy to see him again and that he made the effort to come out, and we know the Lord will bless him for doing so. He wasn’t completely healed, but he was able to walk and I think that helped build his faith.
The other big success for this week was our Ward Missionary Training Activity. It was fun, everyone was involved, and a lot of people left feeling much better than they did coming in. There was more attendance than we thought, and one sister told us that she was just expecting a bunch of role plays, so she wasn’t too excited about coming. In the end, she was glad she came and had a lot of fun. We covered topics from being “invitationaries” to practicing teaching member appointment. There was one activity that we did where we had one of the men sit on a table, and everyone in attendance took one finger and lifted the table up, illustrating the fact the missionaries can’t be the only one to do the inviting, but with everyone’s involvement, it becomes very easy! It was a great learning experience for all of us and we are so excited for the changes to come! Member Missionary Work is the most important duty we all have!
We’ve also been meeting with a man named Gary and a girl named Claire and her mother Liz. We had good lessons with them and are hoping to see them at church this coming week! We also started doing a activity/games night every Tuesday evening, so we now have something to bring people to.
*Spoiler Alert*
I’m moving from Arbroath to Montrose this week. If I don’t get transferred to another area (we get the phone call Sunday Evening), Elder Sweat and I are going to switch flats and move 30 mins north to Montrose. So after 5 transfers, the Arbroath Smokies team is closing 😦 But that’s okay cause a Senior Couple is being put there!
Have a great week everyone!! Thank you for all the love and support!

Love,
Elder Skylar Starr
